Update on Lilah

Lilah is doing well!!! We went to the dentist yesterday morning and she was a champ!!!  We have to go back in 4 weeks to see if her teeth will come down at all. Right now they are pushed up against her adult teeth. If they do not drop, (which they will), we may have to pull her one or two teeth. She is having a really hard time eating. I don't think I have ever cut up food so small for her. She is playing and running around like normal. Still saying "owie" every so often. Her bruising  is doing really well. She is really white around her mouth and nose, and you can see bruising around her eye today.

If this week wasn't already starting out bad. Evan went down stairs to sort his laundry in the dirty clothes baskets and there was about 2-3 inches of water downstairs.  He ran up to get me, yelling, I ran down stairs, grabbed the shopvac and then he went up to check on Lilah and help her get down from the table ( we were getting ready to eat dinner). He just ran up and down the stairs grabbing towel. They both were soaked from getting right in and cleaning up!!  Bless their heats I did not even ask and they both were scrubbing their hardest. Thank God it did not flood the carpet it all leaked out to the garage. They both even helped with all the clean up of the towels and just fixing everything.

Needless to say I am ready for this week to be over. We have been adjusting to a lot of different things right now and it has been different/hard on all of us.

I will keep you posted in a few weeks how her teeth are doing. As of right now we are doing lots of cut up bites, yogurt and apple sauce!!!

Our poor Little Lilah

What can I say about my kids and their teeth, SERIOUSLY!!!!

Last night at a family birthday dinner at Mike's parents house we were dishing up a yummy dinner when all of the sudden we hear a bang and a scream from Lilah that I have never heard before. She was bleeding out of her mouth. She started to swell up right away and just would not stop crying. Her nose swelled right up and so did her cheeks and lips. He mouth was dropping a little. I was so nervous with her mouth that something was wrong with her jaw, but that was cleared up when Grammie Debbie gave her some apple juice and she chugged it on down, thank GOD!!!

We took her to the ER and her face will be bruised for the next few days and even parts of her body. We are calling the dentist today, since a couple of her teeth are pushed up into her gums and turned.

She came out of her room this morning and we could not help but cry. her poor face was swollen, bruised and had blood dried around her lips and mouth from her teeth bleeding at night.

Now she is running around playing with the dogs and just being her normal self, about every  few minutes she will stop and say that something hurts or she will try to drink her milk and cry. I am praying that her teeth will be fine and that it will just be a rough few days of eating and drinking.

I will keep every posted about Lilah and we are getting ready to head to the dentist.

I have some wonderful friends that have offered to help with things I need and I am so grateful and blessed to have them surround me. We just need lots of prayers for Lilah to heal and for Mike and I to be strong for her. It is so hard to see her in pain and the bruising. Although as you can see she is still smiling for pictures!!!  Our little cheese ball :)

Night time laughter

Seriously, I about wet my pants laughing so hard most nights when we go in to tuck the kids in before we go to bed. ( Yes, embarrassing I know, but true).

Our night time routine most nights is bathroom stuff, then we all gather in Evan's bed and read books together. Then when Mike and I are ready for bed we go in and re-tuck the kids in bed, give them kisses and a short prayer ( shorter for Lilah since she is our lighter sleeper).

We never know what we are walking into with these two characters!!  Either trucks every where, laundry baskets on the bed, books galore, snuggled up to a baby, or wearing a hat, who knows. Also their weird and uncomfortable looking sleep positions.

Just something I know we both love about being parents. We both just love walking in not knowing what is on the other side of the door. No matter how rough our day was we still get a good laugh and smile out of these two kids!!!  I just love that. It is just truly a blessing :)

Best friends

My brother and I are about 18 months apart in age, myself being the oldest. We were the best of friends and the best of enemies all in the same day. I LOVED that!!! Sounds weird I know, but my brother and I were always play mates, there for each other and always able to fight with each other. When Mike and I started to have a family I knew I wanted our kids close together so they would have what Casey and I had growing up. Well I got that and much more!!!

Yes I am bias since they are my kids, but I am writing this :)
Evan is truly the best big brother I could ever dream of. Yes, he has his moments, as well all do, that he does not want Lilah around or gets mad at her and yells at her, but for the most part he has some right in doing so. He is still learning how to show her and tell her in the right way. Most days at some point or another I am left out of being the play mat...HELLO!!! I am a stay at home mom for a reason, to PLAY with the kids!!! Not mine. They LOVE playing with each other. They will play from room to room with doors open or shut for at least 30 mins a day, sometimes for a few hrs. They will come out to me from time to time for a snack or something to drink, but for the most part they are playing together. Although there are downsides to them playing together; I get super bored, I want to play with them and when the household chores are done, Bible Study done, what else can I do. My days are for the kids. Also there can be a mess, not usually a bad one and they are both do pretty well at cleaning it up (except the toy room, of course). I know how can I get bored with the 2 kids, but I do. I just love to play with them.

Evan has truly been a wonderful teacher to Lilah. She listens to him so well and respects him so much. They are true best friends. I can not believe how blessed I/we are to have them and to have them be best friends. I hope that this is just a wonderful foundation for the rest of their lives. That they will continue to grow their relationship for the rest of their lives. I am just so blessed to have them both. To have each one of their personalities and full of live spirits. I am so excited to see them grow !!!!
